The Labrador Retriever has kind, intelligent round eyes, strong large bone structure, broad head with strong jaws. Strong powerful legs, otter tail wider and thicker at the base, tapering off more narrow at the tip of the tail. Double weatherproof coat, short, straight and dense not too soft, nor too course in texture. Labrador Retrievers come in a variety of solid colors, yellow, white, cream, fox red, chocolate, silver/gray, silver factor chocolate, silver factor black

In case you are not familiar with the silver/gray labs, in recent years silver labs has gained much popularity and remains a controversial issue. Much of the reason being is that A.K.C does not recognize silver labs as silver, but as a shade of chocolate.  Also many people are not familiar with DNA and do not understand what geneticists have discovered of recessive alleles.  You may click below on the link and read B/b, E/e, and Beyond: A Detailed Examination of Coat Color Genetics in the Labrador Retriever. http://www.labbies.com/genetics2.htm View the table of contents and click on Silver labs

This was helpful in my search of silver labs to better understand the silver lab coat, as well as other coat colors.

I am very sincere when I say no matter what coat color that you may choose in a Labrador Retriever, you will find a true, loyal friend & companion.

Happy Hunting!
